VIZIO M55-C2 55" 4K Ultra HD Smart LED TV - 2015
Vizio’s E series offers very good picture quality for an affordable price, making it an excellent choice for anyone seeking a budget-friendly TV without wanting to give up picture quality and features. Although these TVs have a very basic design and don’t offer 4K or 3D, they perform very well given what you’re paying. This year there’s a lot more variation between the models than before and we’re focusing on the 55 inch E55-C2 here. However, the content in this review can be applied to models in the series ranging from 50 inches to 60 inches in size. All of the TVs of these sizes in this series use a 60Hz panel.
Picture quality overall is very good for the price, with deep black levels, accurate colors, and good uniformity. There are plenty of picture adjustment options, although all except for the largest TVs in this series lack the option of the smoothing the soap opera effect. The Smart TV interface, meanwhile, is more or less the same as it was last year.
As to be expected from Vizio, content selection is excellent and everything is easy to use. While the amount of HDMI inputs varies from two to four across the entire E series, all of the TVs in this size range have a total of three. Otherwise, all TVs in the series have the same single component/composite input, USB port, and optical digital output and stereo output.
This TV has a pleasing basic design, despite being a bit thicker than the majority of today’s mainstream TVs. Vizio has changed their stand design to a two-footed one that provides more stability, but requires a wider piece of furniture to place it on. With solid connectivity options, good picture quality, and features for the money, the Vizio E55-C2 is an excellent overall choice.
