LG Electronics 55EC9300 55" 1080p 3D Curved OLED TV
LG introduced substantial image quality and overall performance upgrades for their TVs at the beginning on 2014, and this trend of improvement has continued to be strong. The LG 55EC9300 has real potential to match (or surpass) the image quality of plasma thanks to the use of OLED technology, which allows for some of the best picture quality yet seen in a TV. The 55EC9300 has black levels and contrast levels deeper than even the best plasmas, with bright whites and good off-angle viewing. There’s a slight tendency to demonstrate a color shift toward red and the curved screen can produce some artifacts, but picture quality remains outstanding overall. The use of OLED technology gives the 55EC9300 an extremely slim panel which along with the units slight curve, allows this TV to look stunning in any room.
The LG 55EC9300 includes a full smart TV feature set while the interface is exceptional with commonly-used features being easy to access. Connectivity is also good, with four HDMI ports (one ARC, one MHL), three USB ports, a component/composite input, and an Ethernet port. The included remote is motion-sensitive for convenient use of smart features and although backlighting isn't included, it’s smaller than the previous version from LG.This innovative TV shows us there’s a lot to look forward as OLED technology continues to be introduced into the mainstream market. While quite expensive for the average buyer, the LG 55EC9300 is one of the absolute best choices right now if outright picture quality is your top concern.
